Good Morning Friends,
J.D. Greear loves to remind us of something we often forget: The greatest revolutions in the kingdom of God rarely begin on stages, they begin in ordinary lives surrendered to an extraordinary Spirit. Everyday believers. Everyday moments. Everyday obedience. This is where God does His most transformative work. Greear’s message in Everyday Revolutionary is simple but disruptive: You don’t need a platform to change the world. You need the Holy Spirit. Are You An Everyday Revolutionary?
Scripture:
Acts 1:8 — “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be my witnesses…”
Galatians 5:16 — “Walk by the Spirit…”
2 Corinthians 5:20 — “We are ambassadors for Christ…”
Message: The early church wasn’t built on spiritual elites. It was built on fishermen, tax collectors, widows, merchants, and teenagers. They were people whose lives were interrupted by the Spirit of God. The revolution began when everyday people realized: The Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead lives in ordinary people. That realization changes everything. The Gospel turns our daily lives into mission. The gospel doesn’t just save us, it sends us. Every conversation, every workplace, every neighborhood becomes a place where God is already at work. You don’t need to cross an ocean to be on mission. You just need to cross the street. Or walk into your office. Or sit at your kitchen table with someone who needs hope. The revolution begins wherever you already are. The Spirit doesn’t wait for you to be impressive. He works through humility, repentance, dependence, and courage that comes from Him alone.
Your weakness is not a liability; it’s the place where the Spirit does His best work. God’s power flows through weakness, not competence. The message is simple: The same Spirit who empowered the early church empowers us. We don’t need to be extraordinary. We just need to be available. That’s how revolutions begin.
And So, imagine waking up tomorrow with this simple conviction: The Holy Spirit wants to use me today. Not someday. Not when life slows down. Not when I feel more spiritual. Today. The revolution of God’s kingdom is carried by people who say “yes” to the Spirit in small, faithful ways: a word of encouragement, a prayer for someone hurting, a step of obedience, a moment of generosity, a willingness to speak the name of Jesus. This is how the Holy Spirit turns ordinary lives into extraordinary instruments of grace. You are not waiting for a call. You are living in one.
Pray the Holy Spirit, make us revolutionaries every day. Pray God fill our ordinary moments with Divine power. Pray You give us courage to obey, eyes to see where You are working, and hearts willing to be used. Pray you turn our weakness into Your strength and our daily lives into Your mission. Amen.
Blessings,
John Lawson
