There is a moment each morning, quiet, unannounced, when our eyes open and the world asks a simple question: Why get up today? This question is not psychological trivia. It is spiritual. Lamentations 3:23
Jeremiah, standing in the ashes of Jerusalem’s ruin, declares that God’s covenant love has not burned out. Even in judgment, God’s compassion renews itself every morning. The verse is a defiant hope: God’s faithfulness rises before we do. His mercy is not occasional, it is rhythmic, dependable, and fresh with each dawn.
Hebrews 2:14
Christ took on flesh and blood so He could enter our condition fully, not as a distant observer but as a true brother. By dying, He broke the enslaving power of the devil and freed humanity from the fear of death. The incarnation is not sentimental; it is strategic. Jesus becomes like us so He can liberate us.
Luke 2:25-35
Simeon is a righteous, Spirit‑led man waiting for the “consolation of Israel”—the fulfillment of God’s promises. The Spirit reveals he will not die before seeing the Messiah. When Mary and Joseph bring Jesus to the temple, Simeon recognizes Him immediately. He takes the child in his arms and blesses God, declaring that he can now depart in peace because God’s salvation has arrived. Simeon sees in Jesus the light for the nations and the glory of Israel. He also foretells that Jesus will expose hearts and be opposed.
Message: Before your feet touch the floor, God has already gone ahead of you. He is not waiting for you to prove yourself. He is not measuring your worth by your productivity. He is present and is faithful, intentional, and loving. You wake up because God is already there. Morning is not a reset of your responsibilities; it is a reset of your identity. You rise not because the world demands something from you, but because God has something for you that may look like responsibility but there is something deeper behind it that is the fullness of life.
Hebrews reminds us that Jesus shared in our humanity “so that by His death He might destroy him who holds the power of death” (Hebrews 2:14). If Christ has conquered death, then every day you live is infused with resurrection purpose.Your conversations matter. Your work matters. Your presence in your home, your church, your community all of this matters.
You are not drifting through random days; you are walking through assignments from the King. You wake up because your life has Kingdom weight. Grace is never meant to be stored. It is meant to be spent.You wake up because someone needs the grace you carry. Every morning is a commission. Every morning is an invitation to bring Christ’s gentleness, wisdom, and courage into a world starving for all three. Like Simeon in Luke 2, who woke each day with a promise in his heart, you rise because God has placed promises in you, promises meant to bless others.
And So, you wake up because God is still writing your story. Your story is not self-authored; it is God-authored, with a purpose not found by looking inward but upward. And God is not finished. If you are breathing, He is building. If you are waking, He is working. If you are rising, He is redeeming. Every morning is evidence that God has not given up on you and He never will.
Pray Lord, we thank You for this morning. Pray we thank You that Your mercies meet us before our thoughts do. Pray You give us eyes to see Your purpose, ears to hear Your voice, and hearts willing to follow wherever You lead. Pray You let this day carry the weight of Your kingdom and the warmth of Your grace. Amen
