Do You Feel Christ Walking Among His Churches?

Good Morning Friends,

The opening chapters of Revelation remind us that before Christ unveils the future, He attends to the present. Before the seals break or the trumpets sound, He walks among His lampstands — His churches — speaking words that search, steady, and save. These seven letters are not ancient artifacts. They are the living voice of the risen Christ addressing the real conditions of His people in every age. What He finds in those churches, He often finds in us. Do You Feel Christ Walking Among His Churches?

Scripture: “Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” Revelation 3:22

Message: To Ephesus, Christ speaks to the believer whose hands are busy, but whose heart has cooled, the one who has kept the truth but drifted from love. To Smyrna, He speaks to the weary sufferer, the one who feels unseen, unheard, and afraid of what may come next. To Pergamum and Thyatira, He speaks to those living in the tension of a culture that presses hard — the believer tempted to soften convictions, to tolerate what slowly corrodes the soul. To Sardis and Laodicea, He speaks to the comfortable, the one with a reputation of life but little spiritual pulse, the one who no longer notices Christ knocking at the door. And to Philadelphia, He speaks to the faithful who feel small, the ones who have little strength but have not let go of His name. Across all seven letters, one truth rises: Christ knows His church. He knows our work, our wounds, our compromises, our endurance. He knows where we are strong and where we are weak. And His words, whether commendation or correction, are never meant to shame us but to restore us. He wounds to heal in way. He confronts to reclaim us. He calls to awaken love again. At the center of every letter is the same invitation: Return to Me. Remain with Me. Overcome through Me. And at the end of every letter is the same breathtaking promise: life, intimacy, identity, fellowship, and a future with Him. The tree of life. The crown of life. Hidden manna. A new name. White garments. An open door. A seat with Him on His throne. Christ does not merely correct His church, He woos it with the future He has secured.

And So, the question, then, is simple and searching: Which letter is Christ speaking to you today? Where has love cooled? Where is fear rising? Where has compromise crept in? Where has comfort numbed? Where is faithfulness quietly persevering? The One who walks among the lampstands is not far off. His voice is not harsh. His promises are not thin. He stands at the door and knocks not to condemn, but to commune.

Pray Lord Jesus, we understand that You who know Your church and know our hearts. Pray You speak again into our community so that we would know where we have drifted. Pray Jesus You draw us back to our first love. Pray that where I am suffering, You steady us. Pray that where we are compromising, we be corrected. Pray that where I am weary, You strengthen us. Pray that where we are faithful, You sustain us. Pray You give us ears to hear Your voice and courage to respond. Pray that by Your Grace You make us overcomers. Amen.

Blessings,

John Lawson
