Who Is Directing Your Life?

Good Morning Friends,

There is a profound truth woven throughout Scripture: God has not simply saved us from something; He has saved us for something. Through Jesus Christ, we have been welcomed into God’s family, forgiven by His grace, and entrusted with the privilege of participating in His purposes. Yet each day we face an important question: Who is directing your life?

Scripture Summaries:

In Ephesians 3:2-12, Paul reminds us that God’s great mystery has now been revealed through Christ. People from every nation are invited into God’s family, and believers are called to share the riches of God’s grace with the world.

In Luke 12:39-48, Jesus teaches that His followers are stewards of all He has entrusted to them. We are called to live faithfully, watchfully, and obediently until He returns, remembering that much is required of those who have received much.

In John 16:13, Jesus promises that the Holy Spirit will guide His people into truth, helping them discern God’s will and walk in His ways.

Message: One of the greatest gifts God gives us is the presence of the Holy Spirit. We do not journey through life alone, trying to find our own way. The Spirit teaches us, comforts us, corrects us, and lovingly leads us closer to Christ. The challenge is not whether God is speaking. The challenge is whether we are listening. It is possible to know about God and still allow other voices to direct our lives. Ambition, fear, comfort, busyness, and even good things can slowly take the place that belongs to Christ alone. Yet Jesus calls us to live each day under His direction, trusting that His way leads to life.

As we spend time in prayer, immerse ourselves in Scripture, and gather with fellow believers, we become better able to recognize His voice. Our hearts become more attuned to His leading. Our choices begin to reflect His character. Little by little, the Spirit transforms us from the inside out.

And So, the Christian life is not about earning God’s favor. It is about responding to the grace we have already received. Because we belong to Christ, we desire to follow Him. Because we have been forgiven, we desire to be faithful. Because we have been given much, we seek to serve Him with grateful hearts. Today, take a moment to reflect:

Who is directing your life?

May our answer not simply be found in our words, but in our daily walk with the Lord.

Pray Gracious Father, that we thank You for the gift of Your Son and the presence of Your Holy Spirit. Pray You help us to listen for Your voice above all others and to follow wherever You lead. Pray You teach us to be faithful stewards of the grace, gifts, and opportunities You have given us. Pray You draw us closer to You through prayer, Scripture, and obedience. Pray that our lives reflect Your love and bring glory to Your name. Pray You direct our steps, shape our hearts, and help us live each day for Christ. Amen.

Blessings,

John Lawson
