Are You Awestruck Knowing the Heart of God?

Good Morning Friends,

One of the greatest tragedies in the Christian life is becoming familiar with God but losing the wonder, losing the trembling, losing the sense that we are speaking to the One who breathed galaxies into existence. If we truly understood the heart of God, we would never pray casually, worship half‑heartedly, or live as though tomorrow is guaranteed.Today’s devotion is an invitation to rediscover the God who is both infinitely holy and intimately near, and to learn how to study His attributes in a way that leads to awe, not mere information. So, Are You Awestruck Knowing the Heart of God?

Scripture:

James 4:8 —  Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”

Psalm 46:10  —  “Be still, and know that I am God.”

And Scripture Summary:

Psalm 103 —God is Merciful, Faithful, and Steadfast in Love.

David celebrates God’s covenant heart toward His people. God is merciful and gracious, rich in compassion toward frail humanity.  God is slow to anger and patient with human weakness. God is abounding in steadfast love, and His covenant loyalty is constant. God is forgiving and removes sins “as far as the east is from the west.” God is faithful and keeps covenant love to those who fear Him.

Message: Friends, most people have no idea how much God loves them. And they have no idea how much God deserves their whole life. The heart of God is not distant, cold, or transactional. He is not waiting for us to perform well enough to earn His attention. He is a Father who runs toward prodigals, a Shepherd who leaves ninety‑nine sheep to rescue one, a Creator who knows every hair on our heads. But we cannot treat this God lightly. We cannot approach Him with distracted minds and divided hearts. The God who loves us is also the God before whom angels cover their faces. The God who forgives us is also the God who shakes mountains. The God who comforts us is also the God who commands our surrender. And this is the miracle: The Holy One wants you. Not your performance. Not your reputation. Not your religious habits. You. He wants your affection, your attention, your obedience, your trust. He wants you to know His heart and to be changed by it.

And So, let the experience of awe be the goal. If you truly see God as He is, your life will change. The purpose of studying God’s attributes is not mastery, it is worship, surrender, and transformation. Consider where we have grown numb to God’s holiness. Consider where we have resisted His love because we fear surrender. Consider where God is inviting us to draw near today. Slow down. Be still. Listen. Let His love reshape your life.

Pray Father, You awaken our hearts to Your holiness. Pray You break through our numbness, our distractions, our self‑reliance. Pray You teach us to tremble at Your majesty and rest in Your mercy. Pray You draw us near until Your love becomes our greatest joy and Your will becomes our deepest desire. Pray You make us people who reflect Your heart in our prayers, in our relationships, in our witness, and in the quiet places where only You can see. Amen.

Blessings,
