Good Morning Friends,    This morning I was looking at a painting attributed to Pieter Brueghel, called The Fall of Icarus. And a poem by W. H. Auden related thereto for it describes a moment beyond time relevant for our time and the importance to prepare for the tests of life. Auden writes this about Brueghel's … Continue reading How Do We Prepare For Christmas? →

Good Morning Friends,      Today's devotional is about blindness and primal trust and our will to believe in the power of Jesus while at the same time, without being paranoid, realize that some people who want to play God will seize opportunities to make a trap for those that uphold hope. It is about … Continue reading What Are We To Say About What We Believe When Jesus’ Love Heals Us Spiritually? →

Good Morning Friends,    Every generation seems to think that the end game is closer than ever. And yes, in many ways the Kingdom of God of Heaven is closer each moment and yet both judgement and grace come every day. The thought of the end times could fill people with panic attacks. Interestingly … Continue reading Are Our Souls In A Healthy Ecosystem? →

Good Morning Friends,     There is a lot of talk about feeding the love this Advent and appropriately so. Today in a passage from Isaiah we see the great joy and hope of a feast without death and in the Gospel of Matthew the means of this movement of love multiplied in the grass roots … Continue reading Will We Have An Abundant Spiritual Feast This Advent? →

Good Morning Friends,    Today's lectionary poses some interesting text that connects the Lordship of Christ to our belief in the resurrection and on this Saint Andrews Day our willingness to evangelize and support others.    Good Morning Friends,    Today is the first Sunday in Advent and the scripture really is a continuation of the little apocalypse presented in the Gospel reading which follows last week's Christ the King Sunday scripture. So, today we read about the sea threatening to spill over its shores and engulf the world, and … Continue reading Do You Know The Signs Of Christ’s Coming? →

Good Morning Friends,    There are uncertainties in life. And sometimes rather sobering and sudden judgement. The deal is that God has given us life limits that we cannot pass. There are also different seasons in our life. Then when the end is expected and the mana's expiration date has long passed… when nothing … Continue reading In The End What Does God’s Love Do? →

Good Morning Friends,    Today on this Thanksgiving, the 400th Anniversary of that story of grace in the face of possible starvation, we read a passage prophesying about the fall of evil's rule on earth and in it is hope of a tool for success. So, we need to listen for the message for … Continue reading Do You Know What The Devil Does Not Want Us To Hear This Thanksgiving? →

Good Morning Friends,  The Gospel of Jesus has always been a bit disturbing to people, but it is never really to be dull. People, especially those in power look on it with suspicion. And frankly it is understandable, for when opportunities for being part of critical events in Holy History present themselves, danger seems to … Continue reading How Do You See The Drama Of History Being Played Out? →
