Are You Ready To Come And See The Beauty Of Heaven?

Are You Ready To Come And See The Beauty Of Heaven?

Good Morning Friends,

Today we get a glimpse of heaven and the New Jerusalem and the bride of Christ and the calling of the first disciples. Here the relationship of being a disciple and being part of the called people of God is mirrored and married to the reality and structure of heaven. And we have been invited to the party too. Are You Ready To Come And See The Beauty Of Heaven?

Scripture: Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.” And in the spirit he carried me away to a great, high mountain and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God. It has the glory of God and a radiance like a very rare jewel, like jasper, clear as crystal. It has a great, high wall with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and on the gates are inscribed the names of the twelve tribes of the Israelites; on the east three gates, on the north three gates, on the south three gates, and on the west three gates. And the wall of the city has twelve foundations, and on them are the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

Revelation 21:9b-14 (NRSV)

Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found him about whom Moses in the law and also the prophets wrote, Jesus son of Joseph from Nazareth.” Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.” When Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him, he said of him, “Here is truly an Israelite in whom there is no deceit!” Nathanael asked him, “Where did you get to know me?” Jesus answered, “I saw you under the fig tree before Philip called you.” Nathanael replied, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!” Jesus answered, “Do you believe because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than these.” And he said to him, “Very truly, I tell you, you will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man.”

John 1:45-51 (NRSV)

Message: Perhaps you have wondered as I why people flock to all kinds of teachers and seminars jumping from one current hot topic to another. Indeed, people are searching for meaning and satisfaction in life that I have found can only be realize in a relationship with God. Here is a purpose in life. Here is meaning that strengthens the souls of people. Friends, with all the emptiness in this world God shouts from the heaven with an invitation to come and see. Now some will follow initially thinking that they were seeking something instead of someone. But it is not a what that we are to be looking for. We need someone to fill our need. Friends, the Bible teaches us that the only real meaning in life is found in a living relationship with God through Jesus Christ, we are invited by God to come and see this for ourselves by inviting Christ into our lives. Friends, satisfaction does not come from things but from relationships and especial a relationship with Jesus that builds glory upon glory and impacts and influences our lives now and into eternity.

Pray we learn to love like Jesus. Pray we bring others to Jesus. Pray we all discover the greatest longing of our hearts. Pray we not weep for those who believe and have past. Pray we find purpose and passion and peace in a relationship with Christ. Pray we realize that Jesus is more than a teacher. Pray we come and see but also exhibit a spark to ignite the fire of the Spirit of God to fill our lives and spill over into the lives of others. Pray we share with others that the invitation is still available today and that it paves the way to heaven.

Blessings,

John Lawson
