Are You Ready to Have A Conversation with God?
Good Morning Friends,
For those called to His purpose, we are to rise up each day shining with the glory of God as we make a conscience decision to choose God and include Him in all our life. It is here God makes everything new. It is here we learn that we, with God’s help we can discern proper actions and that this is not so much about having the right answer, but in being the right answer. Are You Ready to Have A Conversation with God?
Scripture: 15Now if you are unwilling to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served in the region beyond the River or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.’
Joshua 24:15 (NRSV)
60Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. 2 For darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the Lord will arise upon you, and his glory will appear over you. 3 Nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.
Isaiah 60:1-3 (NRSV)
9But, as it is written, ‘What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the human heart conceived, what God has prepared for those who love him’—
1 Corinthians 2:9 (NRSV)
21But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: 22The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases,* his mercies never come to an end; 23 they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. 24 ‘The Lord is my portion,’ says my soul, ‘therefore I will hope in him.’ 25 The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul that seeks him.
Lamentations 3:21-25
Message: Everything we see and hear and say and pray and sing and bring to each day is to be a worship of God… a revelation of the glory of our Savior Jesus Christ…an epiphany of light coming out of the darkness. Each day we are to experience the illuminating experience of God’s healing Spirit burst forth in our lives and especially in our families and work manifested as a fortress of faith…. consecrated with commitment, coping in communion and communicating with courage that each day helps us to choose to serve the Lord. And so we ask the Lord to give us the Holy Spirit so that we may discern at all times what we have to do, which is not always one and the same thing with what we were preparing to do. The message is the same: the Church goes on, the Church goes ahead with these surprises, with these changes of the Holy Spirit. We must discern, and to discern must pray, we must ask this grace of being part of God’s creative acts. And yes, our spiritual journey will have some interesting twists and turns. Sometimes we look out over majestic vistas where seeing is as believing. At other times we can barely see the ground in front of us… a place where spiritual discernment is the only way for us to face the decision of our next step. Sometimes we have to live into the answers with faith maybe not even believing but still praying for mercy and grace… In hope we peak around the next corner…not knowing precisely where God is guiding us or exactly for what we are being prepared. Here we have to trust in God’s faithfulness and that the Holy Spirit is preparing us for a blessing
Pray that Jesus would join us in our prayers and that His presence would be the prelude to peace, the prologue to power, the preface to purpose and the pathway to perfection. Pray we are sensitive and receptive to the Lord so He might show His love through us. Pray we believe God is preparing us for great things. Pray we not worry for God has already made plans for everything and it is going to be wonderful.
Blessings,
John Lawson
