A Very Good Day

A Very Good Day

Good Morning Friends,

How many times have you opened my email expecting something from God? How many of you were willing to wait for God to reveal it to you… pausing patiently until you received what you came for? Well I hope you are not disappointed and find the Jesus you were looking for this morning and as you seek I hope you realize that though it is dark now…the moon has set and Sun has yet to come over the horizon…but I trust as I hope you do that the Sun will come up and soon burst through the sky with the promise of A Very Good Day.

Scripture: Lord, save us! Lord, grant us success!  I thank you that you have answered me and have become my salvation. The stone that the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone. This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Save us, we beseech you, O Lord!  O Lord, we beseech you, give us success!

Psalm 118:21-25 (NRSV)

For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. Then when you call upon me and come and pray to me, I will hear you.  When you search for me, you will find me; if you seek me with all your heart,

Jeremiah 29:11-13 (NRSV)

In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth, the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.

Genesis 1:1-5 (NRSV)

Message: Growing up as a child we had on the bathroom mirror a sign saying Expect a Miracle. I think of it now because of today’s scripture. You see these Bible passages are a reminder that each and every day God wants us to receive and experience the very best for that day. It reminds us that God gives all who believe in Jesus great hope and comfort. It also creates the sense of urgency of having expectations that God is able to work His plans through us and keep his word in us each day of our lives. So today’s scripture is about growing our faith in the hope of something new coming into the world. So are you ready to ignite your faith with a light that lights the world? Are you ready to experience something amazingly good this day?

Pray we expect a miracle on this Sunday. Pray we realize that a new power is in operation…the Spirit of Christ. Pray we not let the devil steal from us. Pray we realize the love of Jesus. Pray we realize that God is working all things for our good. Pray we realize that Jesus is the light of the world and He brings us new mercies each day.

Blessings,

John Lawson
