What Christ Offers
Good Morning Friends,
What I am experiencing now is a God that provides hope for those hurting and facing death. It is not my own death so much, for we all must eventually come to grips with this reality, but of my mother’s which seems more emanate each day even as new mercies come to sustain our hope. As I experience all the family dynamics I struggle. But surprisingly here I also find a hope, that I encourage you to seek, even as I look out, reach out and look up for What Christ Offers.
Scripture: May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.
2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 (NIV)
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all consolation, who consoles us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to console those who are in any affliction with the consolation with which we ourselves are consoled by God. For just as the sufferings of Christ are abundant for us, so also our consolation is abundant through Christ. If we are being afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation; if we are being consoled, it is for your consolation, which you experience when you patiently endure the same sufferings that we are also suffering. Our hope for you is unshaken; for we know that as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our consolation.
2 Corinthians 1:3-7 (NRSV)
Message: It is the core testimony of our faith that we have hope. Here God provides instruction to help us come to grips with our failures and find fulfillment in the struggle discovering the comfort of Christ. Here we face our vanity and in return, if we are blessed, experience Christ’s victory. So keep your head in the final battle and know this… Our God is a God of the living and not the dead. But to Christ’s own all are alive in and through our belief. So stand firm on a foundation of faith. Be persuaded by the truth that you have been chosen and called by God. Persevere in the truth as you respond to the call and practice the truth as God supports you in even facing death. Friends, have a confidence and assurance in the good hope of grace. Tomorrow is all on our side.
Pray we have hope in God sufficiency. Pray we have hope in His righteousness. Pray we are looking forward to the glory and the joy ahead. Pray we have the hope of an eternity with Jesus. Pray we share the hope in Christ’s victory. Pray we have the confidence from possessing a power greater than our own.
Blessings,
John Lawson
