Rain Therapy
Good Morning Friends,
I believe in a changing spiritual climate just like I believe there is a global climate change occurring. No I did not do a dance but I do believe in the benefits of a dream of a community of harvest… a solution-focused, empowerment directed, learning and service that brings resourcefulness and gives us an internal power even when things are not so great. I believe in a God that can bring down Rain Therapy.
Scripture: Then they will see “the Son of Man coming in a cloud” with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to take place, stand up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.’
Luke 21:27-28 (NRSV)
Jesus said to her, ‘Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but those who drink of the water that I will give them will never be thirsty. The water that I will give will become in them a spring of water gushing up to eternal life.’
John 4:13-14 (NRSV)
When I bring clouds over the earth and the bow is seen in the clouds,
I will remember my covenant that is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh.
Genesis 9:14-15 (NRSV)
Then he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain and the earth yielded its harvest.
James 5:18 (NRSV)
I will make them and the region around my hill a blessing; and I will send down the showers in their season; they shall be showers of blessing.
Ezekiel 34:26 (NRSV)
Message: Ok, as I am typing this it is raining as a witness of the reality that in many ways I have received the blessings of God. Some of it is hard. Some of it easy. The truth of it in my life and I imagine yours, is that no one escapes living it. I just comes down on us like rain. Sometimes this involves hardship and pain and sometimes it involves joy and gladness. It rains and storms on the good and the bad. But today I choose to believe in a God who allows us to pray and dream dreams of a shining city with food harvested all the time and choirs singing the praises of God in the relationship and power and influence and creativity of the Trinity makes all things new and clean after the rain.
Pray we not fear the rain and storms of life. Pray that The Child bring those living in a parched dry land rain. Pray the faithful persevere. Pray the people stop sinning and repent. Pray the people receive the miracles made possible in a worshipping community. Pray the Spirit of Christ come down on us like a gentle rain immersing us in the Holy Spirit of God’s will. Pray we rejoice in the nature of our relationship with God. Pray we believe in the power of prayer. Pray for a rainbow and its promise.
Blessings,
John Lawson
