Can You Pick Just One?
Good Morning Friends,
If you had to pick one word to describe your faith would it be Jesus? If you had to choose only one word to explain Jesus the Living Word of God, this historic instrument for the execution of God’s will, what would it be? Randy Travis wrote a One Word Song, about his girlfriend being “amazing.” It had more than one word, though I think he meant her name. Jet Lie starred in a movie, The One, about time travel in a multiverse.
There were more than one of him. Though I think he finally narrowed it down to the real one. Then there was the movie City Slickers where Curly the leathery cowboy holds up one finger and asks the character played by Billy Chrystal if he knows what it means. The rest of the movie is about figuring out what the one thing is. We too are to discover the one thing…the one word. So, what does that one finger pointing upward mean to you?There are a lot of good words to describe Jesus. But Can You Pick Just One?

Friends, Jesus is not a word…. He is “THE” WORD…. El…God. It is not the word you must choose but Him.
Pray that Jesus is one word that changes us even as we call on him by name. Pray we hunger for the word…every one of us. Pray we realize that the name of God is more than a metaphor representing the nature of God. Pray we exalt the one name which is above every name. Pray we seek and discover the love of Jesus.
