Scripture Satan Loathes and We Should Love

Scripture Satan Loathes and We Should Love
Good Morning Friends,
Some people have a chemical imbalance that must be addressed medically, but others face something that appears more to me like an attack of evil.  Give Jesus a little credit for knowing the difference. He caste out legions of demons and he can do it for you too if that is your problem.
So today we look at offensive and defensive strategies for dealing with the devil in Scripture Satan Loathes and We Should Love.
Scripture:I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.
Luke 10: 19 (NIV)
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,
Romans 8:1 (NIV)
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
Philippians 2:9-10 (NIV)
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
James 4:7 (NIV)
Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
John 8:32 (NIV)
Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
Ephesians 6:11 (NIV)
Message: Friends, Satan will twist scripture and misapply the Bible. The devil will intimidate by placing in us false guilt and fear. But know this, the firm foundation of our faith is believed by demons and makes them tremble.  So fix your eyes on Jesus and dare to risk enough to let him take charge. With the power of Christ in you tell the devil exactly where to go and what to do.  Be persistent in your resistance of sin but never stop loving the sinner. Use the name of Jesus and declare the victory of the supremacy of Christ and His sovereign power. Brandish the sword of scripture to cut through error and establish the truth. But be careful of collateral damage. Until one has dealt with one’s own demons we are not very useful foot soldiers in the fight. Our aim can miss the mark. We probably do not have our certification in Exorcism. Rely on Christ who does.
Pray we realize that the devil’s tactics are useless against the armor of God. Pray that we are well defended when oppressed. Pray we appropriate the protection that sustains our relationship with Jesus.  Pray we learn and quote God’s word. Pray by faith that the Devil’s works have been destroyed. Pray we not demonize others. Pray we learn to discern the truth through scripture that brings freedom from spiritual slavery and the sin that birthed it. Pray we are not tempted by the liar of all liars, the father of lies. Pray we realize that Christ has power over every demon of hell. Pray we are prepared for the battles we must face. Pray we rely on Christ who can stand against all the devil’s schemes.
Blessings,
John Lawson
