Where are you?

“Where Are You?”
Good Morning Friends,
Lots of people are planning summer vacations but today we are doing something that takes us on a very different journey. The first step is to take a proximity check as to where we are in relationship to our spiritual home. Here we seek God’s Plan for Success to discover our position relative to the place and person of restoration described in the stories of the Bible. Even as I ask myself, I hear the call of the Shepherd, knowing but still asking, “Where Are You?”

Scripture: Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”

Genesis 3:8-9 (NIV)

Which one of you, having a hundred sheep and losing one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness and go after the one that is lost until he finds it?

Luke 15:4 (NRSV)

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
Message: Typically one might ask a person where they are from, but today’s question is quite different and really much more intriguing for it does not come from us, it comes from God. And God, omniscient as ever, in an act of grace and mercy, calls out to us. Friends, I have been lost before and the reality was that sometimes I did not feel lost at all. It is here that it becomes clearer that we all are lost and in need of a Good Shepherd to find and carry us to the safety of the sheepfold. Like the shepherd, like a merciful King, God wants to restore a relationship with us. God wants to take us on a spiritual journey back to the garden and forward into the city of God to reconcile that which separated us in the first place.  Friends, seek the Lord while he may be found.
Pray we come out of hiding and join in the search. Pray we meet the challenge to love with the passion of Jesus. Pray we make choices pleasing to God. Pray we position ourselves at the crossroads of a fellowship with God and a fellowship with man. Pray we are restored into a relationship with God.Pray we live in the presence of God.
Blessings,
John Lawson
